My Dreams of Egypt: Nefertiti

My dreams of Egypt, they seem to never go away. Nefertiti one of my favorite historical leading ladies. I had her stuck in my head and she would not leave me alone. I finished her last night and I think my piece does her justice. I made her with color pencils, scanned her into my computer, and thought it would be fun this time to add a digital background. I hope you all love her as much as I do. All of my art is a labor of love. Lately everyone has been giving me such wonderful support that I am beginning to amaze myself. To think I am capable of making such beautiful pieces, I am still in shock, to the point where I sometimes can not believe it. Maybe just like wine it gets better with age but who knows. Mary of Scots is next on my list.

  6. Another beautiful illustration...I've got to read Michelle Moran's books soon too I keep hearing great things, and Heather just gave a glowing report at The Maiden's Court. I think you are right; artists get better by doing more...and we are your happy observers as you go! Her eyes are so striking I love them :)

  7. Ms. Lucy might just have swayed me to a new style. Using crayon's and water .I am just going to have to try and see what I come up with. Maybe a Mary.

  8. That sounds interesting, what kind of crayons do you use? You should also try Prisma Colors watercolor pencils...they're a really great medium too, I think you'd like them :)
