Booking Through Thursday: Enjoyable

What’s the most enjoyable, most fun, most just-darn-entertaining book you’ve read recently?

A: I chose "Memoirs of Mary Queen of Scots" by Carolly Erickson because the story was so far fetched that it was entertaining. Laughable at some points, imagine if Bothwell did not leave her because they had a CHILD! I enjoyed the read but at times found it so far from the truth that I could not accept the story line. I did however enjoy the what if factor of the novel.

  1. I love reading about Mary, Queen of Scots, will remember this one and read with 'tongue in cheek' .

  2. Heh, I hear this is another one of her *historical entertainments*, and I'll be treating it that way. Hopefully I'll get farther in that one than I did with the Csarina's daughter :)

  3. You know, I had the same thoughts when I read this author's novel on Marie Antoinette. Entertaining but not feasible.

  4. I read the whole thing "tongue in cheek", it was a wild story line. I have not read Csarina's daughter, I did like The Hidden Diary of Marie Antoinette though. I knew it was a historical entertainment because we all know Marie did not have a diary. But on the other hand it was one of my first historical fiction reads. Arleigh hit the nail on the head "Entertaining but not feasible"

Heading to everyone else's awnsers now, thank you for linking them!

  5. Glad you found entertainment in a book that you was not remaining true to history.

  6. I still am kind of on the fence about it, I enjoyed it but it had a downside too.

It was a wild crazy novel.
