Out with the OLD and in with the NEW
Hello All! I hope everyone is having a wonderful new years. I original was going to wait to do this but I just could not help myself. I was going to wait until Historically Obsessed's first birthday before I changed everything. I figured it is the beginning of the year and change is good. Everything else in my life has changed this past year so why not give the blog a little up do too? I tried to keep to my blue, pink and french theme which I know many of you love. I did create some kind of glitch when I made the navigation and now this random grey layer shows up when the page is first loaded. I am not sure how to get rid of it or where it is even coming from but it has got to go! Any ideas out there on what it is? I hope you all like the new look I had to go to 3 columns because there was just too much stuff I wanted to put up and I found myself taking a bunch of stuff off to make room. I am still fine tuning it a bit and before long it will be fully finished so just hand in there with me. Happy Holidays everyone!

It looks nice! Change is always fun. I want to change mine to 3 columns as well but I just haven't found a background that I like (or that matches with my header...). :)
ReplyDeleteI love the new design, Lizzy!! It's SO you! Your header looks gorgeous, you + a computer = so creative!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! :) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI love the 3 columns layout. I have a tan background that appears as my page loads. I think it's the original blogger color that's layered under the color I put there.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine going back to a two column layout anymore! I am in the process of working out what I want for my blog too.
ReplyDeleteLove it Lizzy!!! I may be calling for help with mine!
ReplyDeleteHappy 2010!!!
I really like this new header. When I opened up your blog this morning, the new look actually made me sit up straight in my chair. Great job, Lizzy. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteRobin, I know the header is a problem one that I let hold me back for awhile. Click the button in the top left corner and check out shabby blogs they have some cool stuff.
ReplyDeleteThank you Allie! Photoshop 0, Me +1, I think I am just really starting to get into my funk with it.
Thank you LADIES! It was just getting to the point where I had to go to 3. I am super happy that you all like it so much. Your compliments have got me grinning from ear to ear!
Happy New Year Too.
Lizzy, it's beautiful! And so are you! Hope you had a great holiday and I can't wait to read your reviews for 2010~ :0)
ReplyDeleteLisa, thank you I can not wait to write them I have so many good books I already have planned to read. It is keeping me all jittery sometimes thinking about them all. I just want to inhale them all.
ReplyDeleteLizzy. I originally higlighted your blog for being different and sticking to its aims.

When you finish a Tudor book and review it, please provide me a link there so I can update your progress for the prizes we are giving away. Happy historical readings in 2010!
Dave, I see you changed your picture I like it! I am going to go and check it out now.
ReplyDeleteBenedictionary, Thank you for the update I am heading there now too!
It's beautiful!! As for the gray, if you have an image background on the page without also listing an HTML color code for the background it will just make it gray. I'm not in tune with Blogger, but if you find a place to set the BG color, you should do it a color you like and the background should override it except when it's loading.
ReplyDeleteThank you Arleigh, I think I have it narrowed down to the glitch is in the navigation I think somehow the code got messed up in the first button so I deleted the button and now it has jumped to the shabby blogs button. It is a roll over effect gone hay wire!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I never commented on this post. I LOVE your look!!!
ReplyDeleteAwh thank you Amy!
