AND SEDUCTIVE AS THE COURT ITSELF.
"Pretty, flirtatious, and ambitious. Nan Bassett hopes that an appointment at the court of King Henry VIII will bring her a grand marriage. But soon after she becomes a maid of honor to Queen Jane, the queen dies in childbirth. As the court plunges into mourning, Nan sets her sights on the greatest match in the land...for the king has noticed her. After all, it wouldn't be the first time King Henry has chosen to wed a maid of honor. And in newly Protestant England, where plots to restore the old religion abound, Nan may be the only one who can reassure a suspicious king of her family's loyalty. But the favor of a king can be dangerous and chancy, not just for Nan, but for her family as well...and passionate Nan is guarding a secret, one that could put her future -- and her life -- in grave jeopardy should anyone discover the truth."RICH AND LUSHLY DETAILED, TEEMING WITH PASSION

KATE EMERSON CONTINUES A SAGA AS DRAMATIC

Based on the life of the real Anne Bassett and her family, and drawing extensively from letters and diaries of the time, Between Two Queens is an enthralling picture of the dangers and delights of England's most passionate era."

Oh....I'm so excited, my copy should arrive today. This in turn means a bubblebath with the royal court for me tonight!
ReplyDeleteI picked this up yesterday on my book shopping trip. It is just as pretty as Pleasure Palace. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read this book, I keep hearing so many good things about it!

I ordered this online and am hoping it arrives soon. I like the purple cover. Do I need to read these books in order, Lizzy, or can I read this one first?
ReplyDeleteThey can be stand alone completely, this one is like 20 years from the first.
ReplyDeleteIf you enjoyed Pleasure palace this one is really, really good. I loved the character Nan. I have an interview with Kate about "Between Two Queens" that I am working on now and it will post sometime next week. I enjoyed it, a bit lusty but not over the top. I inhaled it when I got it I think 3 days. Really good.
This sounds great! I have the Pleasure Palace but haven't had a chance to read it yet.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a wonderful read! Loving the cover!
ReplyDeleteInthehammockblog you are so missing out just trust me. Both books are really juicy. Juicy as in great plot, drama, and great sidelining characters that the combination makes for 2 excellent reads. Kate has a way of featuring the undercover bad girls that were in the Tudor court. Which I love, it is a different point of view one that is unique.
ReplyDeleteThe cover is really pretty I love the colors she has use blue for the first one and purple for the latest one.
