Upcoming Release: The Stolen Crown by Susan Higginbotham

Due to hit bookstores March 1st 201o
What a pretty pair of covers I love them both but the one on the left will be the official final cover. I can not wait to read this one I know I will love it I LOVED Hugh and Bess.

"On May Day, 1464, six-year-old Katherine Woodville, daughter of a duchess who has married a knight of modest means, awakes to find her gorgeous older sister, Elizabeth, in the midst of a secret marriage to King Edward IV. It changes everything—for Kate and for England.
Then King Edward dies unexpectedly. Richard III, Duke of Gloucester, is named protector of Edward and Elizabeth's two young princes, but Richard's own ambitions for the crown interfere with his duties...
Lancastrians against Yorkists: greed, power, murder, and war. As the story unfolds through the unique perspective of Kate Woodville, it soon becomes apparent that not everyone is wholly evil—or wholly good."

  2. I want this one so badly...having loved the 2 others by Higginbotham.

I'm partial to the most recent cover, but I like the other one too.

  3. Robinbird, I am waiting for my copy and I can not wait to read it. It is so hard to have to wait to post a review especially when you really liked the book.

Amy, I loved Hugh and Bess but I have not read any of her other ones yet. What I really like about her covers is that not only does she pick really pretty fine art pieces but she also has a beautiful font style that is all her. I really like how she puts the blurp about the book in its own box. I think it is the little touches that make her covers so pretty. I like both covers but I am partial to the latest one.

  9. I think the green cover is more seductive and I like that she toying with her necklace.

Daphne, I have yet to get mine but I got lucky and I am getting the publishers copy once she is done with it. I can not wait but at the same time I hope it takes awhile to get here so I do not inhale it.

  13. Mystica, I can not wait to read the read Red Queen but it is so long away from its release. I heard she changed it to be instead of going white queen, red queen, white princess, it is now going to have an extra book about Elizabeth Woodvile's mother Jacquetta before Elizabeth of Yorks book.

  14. The covers are indeed beautiful. I don't wish to be negative, but they do not evoke the period of that time. The dress/es is hardly Medieval. If I were to glance at this book in a book shop then I would think it was about the 18th Century. Still, it wouldn't prevent me from reading this book.

  15. Ing, it was a really good novel but I have to agree the cover is so not in the right time period.
