Book Store Adventures in Portland

I just had to share my latest bookstore adventures with everyone. On Friday I managed to snag some really good books at descent prices. A few were a little higher than I wanted to pay but I had to have them. This is what I got: The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly, The Last Great Dance on Earth by Sandra Gulland, The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, The Mask of The Black Tulip, The Deception of The Emerald Ring All by Lauren Willig, The last Boleyn, The Poyson Garden, and The Twylight Tower, all by Karen Harper. Wow that is a lot more now that I have written them all. Thank You mom for the wonderful early birthday presents, man that woman has great taste.

I am just on a roll lately and I went to Borders on Sunday. I ended up getting "Courtesan" by Diane Haeger, and the most beautiful Jane Austen Note Cards. The cards are just blank in a pretty little box, which I could not pass up. You can buy them on Amazon. What I could not believe is that they had two signed copies of A Rose for the Crown and Daughter of York both by Anne Easter Smith. I wanted them so bad I could taste it, but I could not eat the 17.95$ a piece price tag. My husband said "where you going with all those books? and it stopped me dead in my tracks. I just can not help myself sometimes and have to be regulated on. Did anyone else manage to snag anything good this week?

  2. My boyfriend loves to read but my obsession with buying them in mass quantities throws him, haha.

  3. Sandra Gulland's Josephine B trilogy are three of my favorite books. She is a great writer. I really liked Diane Haeger's Courtesan, it was a little heavy on the romance but still a great read, and I read it before I'd really read much on France so it gave me a nice basis.

This week I bought Nefertiti at Barnes and Noble! Can't wait to get started on this one...They guy/girl hist-fic-books-in-massive-quantities phenomenon is always a hilarious one. :)

  4. Amy you can get them cheaper on amazon then what I paid for them in the bookstore, I think like 6$.

My husband has more books than me, so normally he says nothing but this time the books were big and he thought there were more than there was. Even now he said "I had like six books" nope a set of cards, 3 books, 2 being smiths are Gigantic sized books.

I am so going to read Nefertiti, from dolleygurls review I got really excited.
