After reading "
Hugh and Bess" I had to make my own version of Bess de Montacute. I just could not resist. Bess is very large 11 x 15. I painted her using water color pencils and water color crayons. Then as usual I touched her up with color pencil. Since it is so big I could not scan it all in on my computer but I did a close up of her face. Hope you all enjoy.
Lizzy, that is amazing! It is so beautiful, you are so talented! I've read Hugh and Bess and you've done such a good job!
ReplyDeleteI love how in the close up you can see her eyes are so many colors. It is beautiful. I haven't read that book yet - but I love the art!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteLike Heather, that's the thing that amazes me too..the brilliance of her eyes- You're incredible!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, Lizzy. How long does it take you to create one of your pieces?
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I also love what you did with her eyes.
ReplyDeleteBess is 11x15. I finished her in one night. If I have a thought in my mind I can whip it out real quick. The problem is getting the inspiration from something. Usually it is finishing a novel that triggers it.
ReplyDeleteThe eyes are my favorite part of her too, it is layers of paint first blue then brown then blue, and then touch up with pencils to give it more definition. I kept the white in her eyes the original paper which gave it a flowy look.
Someday I will get prints made of her.
Love it. Very nice, and so neat that you get to be inspired by words to create your artwork.
ReplyDeleteI love the abundance of colors so well blended, beautifully done!
Lizzy this one is just breathtaking. I am absolutely entranced by the beauty of it. I have to read Hugh and Bess now just to see this amazing woman come to life. Wow is all I can say!
ReplyDeleteOh if you make a print Im buying it!
ReplyDeleteIf I can ever get it together and get real prints made. I have to find the right place to get them and I do not even know where to start. Eventually I want to get an Itsy shop going with cheep prints.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marie and Jasmine!
Dayana, I am glad you came by to visit now I am going to watch your video. Thank you!
