The Paper Back Swap Hook Up

After seeing Arleighs post on Historical-Fiction I just could not resist following her lead. I joined paperbackswap.com and I love it! The way it works is if you own books that you think you might not read why not pass them off to someone who will. Once you join you can choose to upload 10 books that you want to swap, if you upload 10 then you get 2 extra credits. Yes I did say credits, it is like a point system, one book equals one credit. You upload, someone requests it, you mail it, you get a credit, and from there you can pick any book out of the data base that fits your taste.

It is a wonderful place and I feel for once that I just might be able to get ALL of those new beautiful Jean Plaidy books my heart so desires. Thank you Arleigh I would have never known what I was missing with out your expertise in books!

"Leonardo's Swans" I just had to have because of Allie's amazing review of it over at Hist-Fic Chick, I got lucky in getting a hardback copy that is literally brand new.

Heather at The Maiden's Court also gave a great review of "Dark Angels" by Karleen Koen and it was the first book I requested.

Thank you Heather and Allie for cluing me into 2 new books that are a wonderful addition to my library. Both are beautiful books.

  2. I just could not resist it, what really drew me in was that Allie mentioned it has notes from his journal. It has beautiful cover, my daughter said "why is she NAKED'? LOL

  4. I would have traded Breaking Dawn too its awful

I have the Gunievere trilogy and Dark Angels so let me know how you like them. If you like Arthur legends I highly recommend Queen of Camelot by Nancy McKenzie. Its the Arthur legend told through Guinevere's eyes from her childhood into old age (there is a sequel called Grail Prince dealing with Lancelot's son) I love the relationship between Arthur, Guinevere, and Lancelot. There is love there but a bond of brotherhood between Lancelot and Arthur thats so wonderful as well. Its truly a gem. I know I havent posted a lot since my big news but I hope to get something up this week in the form of reviews.

Oh and I have leonardo's Swans on my bookshelf waiting for its turn on my never ending TBR list too.

  6. I love paperbackswap too. I have gotten some books I have really wanted and gotten rid of some books I could have easily done without. I'm glad you got Dark Angels - I hope you like it. I too am very interested in Leonardo's Swans.

  7. Gosh Allie now you make me want to read it even more!

I hate the Twilight books, sorry but I do. I tried to read the first one and it was a snooze. If I want to read about vampires I really like Anne Rice. At least in her books the vampires are really old and each book focuses on one time period. Vampires through the ages are more appealing to me than ones that only live modern day.

I have had Queen of Camelot by Nancy McKenzie on my list since you first told me about it. Well I have a whole post going up soon with a list of TBR books.

I wish I could say I have them all Christen Trent is an avid Plaidy collector she has many first editions, I am so envious!

Thank you Heather I am dying to read it but have to finish review copies first, poop. But it is giving me incentive to to get them done. My reward is Dark Angels.

  8. I didn't like Leonardo's Swans and couldn't finish it.
It's shame that paperbackswap isn't international.

  10. I love paperbackswap! The Guenevere trilogy is wonderful...I got the first novel at a bookstore near the Putney Bridge tube stop when I was in London in 2001. Its really is great.
