Sundays Art: Duel After A Masquerade Ball

Jean-Léon Gérôme May 11, 1824 – January 10, 1904 was a French painter and sculptor in the style now known as Academicism. The range of his oeuvre included historical painting, Greek mythology, Orientalism, portraits and other subjects, bringing the Academic painting tradition to an artistic climax.

  2. I found your blog via Bookblog.ning and you have a great blog. Have you read Charles Nicholl's The Reckoning? It's about the death/murder of Christopher Marlowe and although it's non-fiction, it reads like a great historical mystery. I highly recommend it.

  4. Mike, no I have not read that one. I actually do not mind a non fiction read, if it is a good one. I will check it out and add it to my list, thanks for the advice. I can always use it. More, & more books!
