Cover Alert "Becoming Marie Antoinette" by Juliet Grey

"This enthralling confection of a novel, the first in a new trilogy, follows the transformation of a coddled Austrian archduchess into the reckless, powerful, beautiful queen Marie Antoinette.

Why must it be me? I wondered. When I am so clearly inadequate to my destiny?

Raised alongside her numerous brothers and sisters by the formidable empress of Austria, ten-year-old Maria Antonia knew that her idyllic existence would one day be sacrificed to her mother’s political ambitions. What she never anticipated was that the day in question would come so soon.

Before she can journey from sunlit picnics with her sisters in Vienna to the glitter, glamour, and gossip of Versailles, Antonia must change everything about herself in order to be accepted as dauphine of France and the wife of the awkward teenage boy who will one day be Louis XVI. Yet nothing can prepare her for the ingenuity and influence it will take to become queen.

Filled with smart history, treacherous rivalries, lavish clothes, and sparkling jewels, Becoming Marie Antoinette will utterly captivate fiction and history lovers alike.

I wish Amazon would list the cover artist under their product details. It's so frustrating to like a cover artist's work but not know who he or she is. That dress is indeed beautiful!

Stephanie, glad I could help add to the wish list.

Ruth, I LOOOOVE the cover too!

Patty, you know me way too well. I forgot to mention though that this will be book one in a MA trilogy.

S.L., that is something I guess I never thought about and you are right they should list it and they should list who they use for video book trailers too. I so want the dress too.

Daphne, hehe I saw on on Etsy for sale for MA and it was outrageously priced. Those dresses are still thousands of dollars. I want one too.Good luck with the husband I am working on mine for a new dog LOL.

Bonnie, stunning it the perfect word for it. I can not wait to see it in the flesh.

Meg, YES she still enthralls me no matter how many times I read about her she ceases to amaze me.

Carole, hehe you are so funny that sounds like something I would do too LOL. I think it will measure up to the hype I have been privy to some of the info on it and trust me it will be really good. I swear I can just feel it in me, I know it is going to be to die for.

This sounds like it will be a good opportunity to learn much about this misunderstood woman.

LibraryPat, I know right? I love me some MA and you are spot on about her being misunderstood. For me she is like histories most misunderstood queen. It makes me want to spit nails when I see her attached to "let them eat cake" she NEVER said that EVER. I can not wait for this one it will be a really good one I think.
