The Pale Rose of England by Sandra Worth
"It is 1497. The news of the survival of Richard Plantagenet, Duke of York, has set royal houses ablaze with intrigue and rocked the fledgling Tudor dynasty. With the support of Scotland's King James IV, Richard-known to most of England as Perkin Warbeck-has come to reclaim his rightful crown from Henry Tudor. Stepping finally onto English soil, Lady Catherine Gordon has no doubt that her husband will succeed in his quest.
But rather than assuming the throne, Catherine would soon be prisoner of King Henry VII, and her beloved husband would be stamped as an imposter. With Richard facing execution for treason, Catherine, alone in the glittering but deadly Tudor Court, must find the courage to spurn a cruel monarch, shape her own destiny, and win the admiration of a nation".

  8. Here I am again, pathetic and needy, trying again to win Ms. Worth's book! Yes, I won a pen before, a VERY nice pen, but not a book. A book by Sandra Worth has become my personal 'Northwest Passage', my 'Philosopher's Stone', my 'El Dorado',...

  12. Thanks so much for letting me know that I posted my entry at the wrong place!
I love Robin Maxwell too! I've read, "The Wild Irish," "To the Tower Born," and "Mademoiselle Boleyn" by her. It's been a couple of years since I've read them, so I might have to pick them up again!

  13. I love historical romance and Sandra has me hooked on this series. My husband is a history nut and he's has studied the War of the Roses and asked if I win if he can read it when I finish!

Can you think of a better way to bond in a marriage than to have the same love of books?

  14. Jeanne,

I have to admit sharing the love of books and reading with your spouse is a wonderful way to bond. We keep a book of books, as we call it, and enter each book we read and rate it. We have it broken up into years and it can be so fun to go back and check on a previous years reads and see when you discovered a new author, how longs it has been since you read so and so, how your reading habits have or have not changed, and how good a certain year was book wise.
So yes, to answer your question it is a wonderful way to bond.

  16. Michelle, of course anytime girl!!!

KimberlySue, if you love Robin you have to check out Signora Da Vinci and O, Juliet, she is so powerful with her novels. She is my favorite and holds a dear place in my heart, it was Robin who lured me into HF and blogging if you can believe that.

Jeanne, that is AWESOME!!! I love men like that, they are wonderful. I hope you do get a chance to read it, I have read a lot on the lost princes but this one is by far my favorite besides "The Tower Born" by Robin Maxwell. That is another very interesting novel you might want to check out for both of you. Nope there is no better way to bond me and my husband have book races to see who finishes first.

Furry Readers, ha I thought I was the only one who had a book of books stashed away. Hehe that is GREAT you both share it too.

Librarypat, I want to read it again and I never do that. It is going to be so hard to forget it even though I want to so I can read it all over again like new. I think you will really love it.
